In 1987 I was in the hospital dying. I lost full function of both of my kidneys and was diagnosed with Lupus. I was told that I would not make it through my 20's. Then I remembered; that was just their opinion of me. I've done Peritoneal dialysis for 5 years, experienced chemo therapy, had 3 back-to-back grand mal seizures and uncontrollable high blood pressure, and I've recently been diagnosed with Osteoporosis.
Since then I have co-founded Patient's Pride, Inc., and through this company, I've helped thousands of others take back control while living with a chronic illness. I raced motorcycles, I golf, I successfully personally built my own 600 square foot studio in 2003 (ww.sheilashaw.com), I wrote a book, and do motivational audio recordings. But what I am most proud of is the footprint that I am leaving for those that will be following in my steps by giving my success story to help others accomplish what I have.
